what is the book about?
As of now the book is titled “Sisters During Rocky Times,” named after a couple of previous watercolor illustrations. The story is about my relationship with my sister.
a story to tell
Introspection during the pandemic led me to watercolors. One by one, it turned out by happenstance that each illustration I painted wove together to tell a story.
stand up to the bully
On Tuesday, September 10, Vice-President Harris will stand up to one of America's most notorious and dangerous bullies - Donald J. Trump
bird watching, watching me
Paul birdwatches from his home office. Two bird feeders and a bird bath are within view from Paul's windows. He has me to thank for the great variety of feathered friends visiting our yard.
finding the silence by creating dots
One way I meditate is by observing nature. I stare and focus on one element. During the fall, that may mean staring out the window, watching the leaves fall from trees and dance in the wind. Another way, while painting, I concentrate on the colors I mix together, how the watercolors bleed into one another or how my brush moves across the roughness of the paper. A deeper stillness comes over me when I am making dots. Yes, you read that correctly - making dots.
