my work on display at Glitter Thicket
On Friday, May 24th, my watercolor illustrations went on display and up for sale at a sweet little bakery - Glitter Thicket - in downtown Nyack, New York.
Walking into Glitter Thicket, I feel like I have entered the realm of fairies, whimsy and magical things. The cafe's owner, Larisa, bakes delicious vegan cupcakes, cookies, and other vegan goodies (good little fairies try to eat vegan as much as possible to save the animals). Larisa's cafe displays fairy houses handmade by her using wood, sticks, stones and other objects found in nature.
Every few months, Larisa exhibits local artists' artwork and jewelry. On one visit to her cafe, I showed her my website. She thought, the little girls in my paintings (they represent my sister and me), looked a lot like woodland fairies. And I suppose they are; any time I paint myself, Tamara or Paul, we are tiny beings transfixed and under the spell of Mother Nature's mighty flora and fauna.
I hope you will visit Glitter Thicket this summer to view and purchase one of my framed archival prints.
