Three Kings Day!

Have you ever wondered why many people keep lights and decorations up past December 25? No one seems to talk much about why. And advertisers, malls and online stores don't capitalize on the entire Christmas season because, in their view, the consumer buying frenzy is over the day you and yours unwrap all the presents.

Christmas has 12 days which starts on Christmas Day and ends today on Three Kings Day, Epiphany. After Jesus' birth, the word spread that God had given the world a new King! God's light was revealed - an Epiphany! And so, the three wise men traveled to bring gifts to God's son.

I am not an expert on the bible, but I do know that the true beauty of Christmastime is not the busy shopping season leading up to December 25 but rather the days after when we bask in the glory of a baby who came to save us.

The three wise men didn't arrive late, but rather right on time to witness what peace, joy, love and hope in human form could look like.

I invite you on this day - Three Kings Day - and every day throughout the year to embody the meaning of the birth of Jesus in all that you do and everyone you encounter.
